Equipment
Harnesses
I recommend and two harness brands; Haqihana (an Italian company) and the new BARE harness made in the UK by Woofs to Kittys in London.
I have met the owners of Haqihana on several occasions and they are impeccable in their dedication to making high quality and anatomically correct equipment.
I have also met Anita of Woofs to Kittys and am excited that she is offering a lightweight and comfortable harness for the UK market.
Haqihana has a map on their site that helps you locate a retailer. You can order their harnesses (including the double harness for long bodied dogs) via The Mutty Professor web-shop or storefront shop in Bristol. You can also email or ring the shop for more information. They are likely to ask you for an ‘in-person’ fitting now.
Leashes
Both Haqihana and BARE sell matching leashes (at least 3 metres is recommended for everyday use) alongside their harnesses. Roz at The Mutty Professor sells great (varying length) Biothane leashes for wet weather and long length biothane leashes for recall and tracking work.

JR Pet Products in Wales have an excellent choice for natural treats and chews and will deliver to your home. Popular items include lamb twists, Ostrich bones, lamb spaghetti and pizzles.
Woofs to Kittys’ onlline store sell a very large selection of natural dog chews.
For a less expensive commercial option, Doggy Treat sell ‘offcuts’ to be purchased in bulk.
Cow hooves (can be filled with food for a natural ‘KONG’ effect), Cow ears, Pizzle Paddywack, Sweet potato chews, Venison shanks, Chicken feet, Moon bars. Pig’s ears are too fatty and commercial pigs are inoculated in their ears (JR Pet Products sells appropriate ear chews!), the residues of which will be transferred to your dog. You may even consider buying a dehydrator and drying meat and veg naturally – saving money in the long run!
PLEASE AVOID: any rawhide of any kind, cheap chews and treats from Pound Stores or commercial pet food stores.
